World Cup 2010
Went to a Sports Bar the other day with husband, Lee, and Steve to watch Spain vs Swiss. Was fun to watch the game on a big screen with a beer in hand and others shouting and cheering on their favorite team. Too bad Spain lost. Was disappointed but otherwise it was a fun night. It was also fun to watch two foreigners going around and talking to all the girls they could. They went home alone that night.

Our new baby
This is our new baby. I've been wanting a basil plant since October of last year, but all the stores didn't sell them and I was told it would only be sold in spring. So as soon as twitterpating season arrived I got myself a baby plant, which was surprisingly pricey. We transferred it to a nice pot and relegated it to it's spot on the window sill where it patiently awaits our move to our new home, and it's new bedroom on the patio we will be making for it.
Husband made me promise to take good care of it as the last one had an untimely demise due to too much sun and too little water. Time to prove that I don't have a black thumb. I'm already dreaming of a healthy basil cluster growing on the patio of our new house, and that pasta with fresh basil, tomatoes and olive oil. Aah.. I love fresh herbs and spices. If all goes well a sister rosemary, and brothers lavender and peppermint will be joining it in it's patio crib.

Going nutty
This is my new snack craze.Started when I was visiting my parents in Kobe and after hearing a lot from my mom on healthy foods she was going for, and homemade beauty products she was using, I decided to follow her wise counsel and picked up a pack of these while out with my sister.
I'd just read about it's benefits for the heart, blood pressure, it's high protein and antioxidant properties, and it's prevention of gallstones. I admit that what sold me the most was it's claim to healthy, beautiful skin and hair. Yes, vanity is a strong motivator.
Almonds, and any nut besides peanuts, are pricey little buggers, so it's not often, but whenever I get a chip or quick snack crave, these are what I'm going to now. Here's a website on all it's perks for those interested.

Thought of the day
"A moment spent angry is a moment of happiness wasted." So true but so hard to do. It's like what they say about MSG. You know it's bad, but darn, it tastes good. I know have a temper and so living this motto is hardly going to be a picnic, but must give it a good shot. Actually, better gun it down to make sure I hit something right.
Or perhaps an alternate solution: haha

Boys and their toys
Braai and volleyball
Steve and Philipe doing a beer ad.

I miss the beer...

Akira rode on the back on the way home. On the way it started pouring rain and a group of cows (pictured below) weren't too happy with us passing through either. One of the bulls mooed menacingly at Akira, who was wearing a red shirt, but thankfully didn't feel the urge to charge.
